Welcome Message

president images Dear respected memvers of the Korean Society of Pediatric Urology.

The Korean Society of Pediatric Urology (KSPU) was established in 1992 as the parent body of the Pediatric Urology Society, which was founded in 1987. The KSPU has exponentially grown to promote the highest standard of urologic care and to advance the science of pediatric urology by the enthusiasm and dedication of members. The KSPU is also well knownas a harmonious society with good mutual friendship. I hereby thank all members of the KSPU, especially the preceding presidents and executive directors, who have successfully led the our society so far. I feel a great sense of responsibility as a President of the KSPU with such a brilliant history and a good tradition.
However, the current medical environment does not easy. Since the last decade, the society has been suffering from a period of difficulties, such as a declining birthrate, social trend of avoiding hard-enduring surgical specialties, and strengthened medical policies and regulations. However, in order to overcome these difficulties and become better society I will do my best.

First, I will make the academic conference which is the flower of the society more active. We will learn and acquire up-to-date knowledge through academic conferences, and make it an exciting and informative academic venue for contemplating and solving a variety of topics related to clinical practice.

Second, I will widely support academic collaborations and relationships with Korean and international pediatric urology societies. Through this, I will concentrate my efforts on establishing a platform for the academic development of our members and increasing the stature of the KSPU.

Third, by developing and providing a program that will enable the trainees, who are the future leaders of our society, to experience the academic appeal of pediatric urology, I will make qualitative and quantitative growth of the society. In addition, as a top professionals in the field of pediatric urology, we will look for ways to reach physicians and the public through diverse channels and contents that are appropriate for the 4th Industrial Revolution era.

During the past 32 years, the KSPU has been developing with the dedication and enthusiasm of members who love and care for young patients. I believe that if our efforts are added on the basis of our senior's statecraft and wisdom, we will be able to achieve greater development and achievement.

I would like to kindly ask for your much interest and cooperation.

Thank you very much.

April, 2021
